The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) held its 2022 First Quarterly Meetings from 21 to 23 March 2022. The Quarterly Meetings which held at Command Mess 1 Abuja provided opportunity for NAOWA Members to discuss and decide on strategic matters that would affect the direction of the Association.

While giving her opening remarks during the Executive Meeting, the President NAOWA Mrs Salamatu Faruk Yahaya noted the tremendous successes achieved during the period under review, which she said include upgrading existing structures, provision of equipment in NAOWA facilities, establishing partnerships, Training and strengthening NAOWA institutions. Mrs Salamatu attributed the successes achieved in providing basic equipment in NAOWA schools to the effective management of incomes through automated and other checks mechanisms.

Mrs Salamatu Yahaya reiterated that her commitment to achieving a vision of Sustaining Legacies and Upholding the tenants of Unity and Service remains resolute and her desire to see that NAOWA remains as an Association with great reputation that compliments Nigerian Army humanitarian drive has been on her front banner. Mrs Salamatu Yahaya enjoined NAOWA members to redouble obedience to their husbands, which she said is among the requirements of building a strong home. She further expressed her appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen F Yahaya for his unalloyed support and assistance toward the actualization of NAOWA objectives.

The Executive meeting featured briefs from NAOWA Chairpersons /Coordinators and Talk on Mental Health by Mrs Margaret Olokpo. While the General meeting witnessed presentation on Basic Concept of Human Right by Bar Aisha Jonah Kaltungo of National Human Right Commission as well as Health Talk on Prevention of Common Cancer in Women by the members of NAOWA Health Committee.

Other highlights of the meetings include interactive sessions, group photograph, Dinner night, Health Talk to NASWA members amongst others.
