PRESIDENT NAOWA VISITS COMMANDER INFANTRY CORPS NIGERIAN ARMY
The President, Nigeria Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya paid a courtesy call to the Commander Infantry Corps Maj Gen VO Ezugwu on 1November 2022 at the Headquarters Infantry Corps Centre.
Before stating the purpose of the visit, Mrs Yahaya apprised the Commander Infantry Corps of her activities as the 22nd President of NAOWA based on her vision of “Sustaining Legacies and Upholding the Tenets of Unity and Service” which was borne out of her desire to consolidate on what her predecessors have entrusted.
In his response, the Commander Infantry Corps Maj Gen VO Ezugwu thanked the President NAOWA for the visit and stated that all Commanders and Commandants in Jaji Cantonment are always willing to assist the activities of NAOWA . Maj Gen Ezugwu further appreciated the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General F Yahaya for finding him worthy to be appointed the Commander Infantry Corps and assured that he will continue to do his best in discharging his duties. Present during the visit was the Commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Commandant Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Commandant Warrant Officer Academy ,Commandant Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre, Wives of Senior Officers amongst others.
Highlights of the visit to the Commander Infantry Corps include, presentation of souvenirs, Group photograph, donation of welfare packages and school equipment to teachers of NAOWA Model Nursery and Primary School, outreach to patients at the Cantonment medical centre, visit to the Cantonment Zoological Garden, Interactive session with NASWA and NAOWA members.
