The President Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs Salamatu Farouq Yahaya has visited the Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Chief Anthony Okechukwu Ojukwu (SAN) on 1 September 2022, at the Head Office, National Human Rights Commission Abuja.
Mrs Yahaya in her remarks, outlined the objectives and activities of NAOWA. She stated that, the purpose of the visit was to strengthen the existing synergy between NAOWA and NHRC in the areas of capacity building and advocacy. She in addition, sort for more partnerships with the Commission in other Humanitarian means of assisting vulnerable groups in the society.
A visibly elated Executive Secretary NHRC, appreciated the NAOWA President for the visit and stated that, the NHRC and NAOWA have similar objectives of rendering support to vulnerable persons. He added that, a society thrives when the rights of women, children and vulnerable persons are protected. He assured the NAOWA President of initiating a MOU that will further strengthen the collaborative activities of NHRC and NAOWA.
