The President Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya in her bid to retrieve track records of NAOWA in line with her vision of Sustaining Legacies and Upholding the Tenets of Unity and Service, paid a courtesy call on the Nigerian Ambassador to Congo Brazzaville, Her Excellency Ambassador Deborah Iliya who was a National Executive Member of NAOWA and the originator of the evergreen NAOWA Anthem.

The visit took place from 28 to 29 November 2022 and featured a lot of activities and great moments. In her remarks during the visit, Mrs Salamatu Yahaya stated that her resolve to pay a courtesy call on the ambassador was propelled by the need to get firsthand information on the historical development of NAOWA. She emphasized that exploring the past would help future leaders to know the contributions of their predecessors and also serve as a guide in achieving leadership goals. Mrs Salamatu also commended the Ambassador for her remarkable contributions in the development of NAOWA.

Earlier in her remarks, HE Ambassador Deboral Illiya stated that she is delighted with the enthusiasm of the NAOWA President in retrieving track record of NAOWA instead of re-writing history. She further stated that the undertaken documentary project will surely engrave the history of NAOWA in the leafs of life during and after her tenure.

Highpoints of the visit include; discussions, presentation of souvenirs, visitation to historic sites and group photograph.
