The President NAOWA, Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya in her bid to standardize and strengthen NAOWA Institutions, has commissioned one of her pet Project on Tuesday 24th May 2022.
The Project is a Block of Six Classrooms, Staff Room and ICT Centre situated in Ginginya Barracks Sokoto. The Block of six Classrooms is fully furnished and equipped with pupils furniture, staff furniture, electronic gadgets /teaching / learning aids, and 10 units of all in one HP Computer Desktops.
The President NAOWA also commissioned the Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya NAOWA Secretariat Complex which is an initiative and accomplishment of the Chairperson NAOWA 8 Div Chapter, Mrs Glory UU Bassey. The Secretariat which is fully furnished comprises the following:- Chairperson Office, Conference room, Coordinator’s Office, Liaison Officer’s Office and a Waiting Room.
Highlights of the Commissioning ceremony include inspection of the projects, donation of welfare package to staff of NAOWA Model Nursery and Primary School Sokoto, presentation of Certificate of Appreciation to members who have made major impact in NAOWA as well as cultural dances and drama by pupils and staff of NAOWA school.
Inaddition, deriving from the medical equipment donated by the NAOWA President, a Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) has been established in 8 Div Medical Resource Centre and Hospital in Ginginya Barracks.
The NAOWA President also presented relief items to the inpatients of 8 Div MRCH.
Other Highlights of the visit to Sokoto include Courtesy Call on the General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, Major General UU Bassey, Dinner Reception, Group Photographs and presentation of souvenirs.
