The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration (AFRDC) is an annual event to honour fallen heroes who laid down their lives in service to humanity during the first and second world war, Nigerian civil war, peace support missions and other internal security operations.

The Armed Forces Remembrance Day which is on 15 January 2023 was preceded with a special Jummat Prayers and an Interdenominational Church Service which took place at the National Mosque and the National Ecumenical Center Abuja on 6th and 8th of January respectively.

The NAOWA members of the Muslim faith who attended the Jummat Prayers were led by the NAOWA President Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya, while members of the Christian faith were led by the NAOWA Deputy President Mrs Stella Omozoje for the interdenominational church service.

While addressing NAOWA Members before the prayers, the NAOWA President Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya maintained that it is important to pray for fallen heroes and their families as well as all members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their great sacrifices in uniting and safeguarding the Nation.

During the prayers at the National Ecumenical Center the Chaplain appreciated the President NAOWA Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya for her numerous contributions and support to the less privilege persons through the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Highpoint of the event were special prayers for the Fallen Heroes, Serving Personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and all citizens of Nigeria, and also group photographs.
