The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management & Social Development, Mrs Sadiya Umar Farouq has stated that her Ministry will support small businesses in the barracks especially those in the market markets in the barracks.
She made the pronouncement when she received Executive Members of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) led by its President Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya during a courtesy visit at the Humanitarian Affairs Secretariat on Thursday 25 August 2022 in Abuja.
She stated that, her Ministry has rolled out several humanitarian services to be rendered to vulnerable persons including orphans, widows and those with physical challenges.
The minister assured the NAOWA President of the readiness of her Ministry to collaborate in providing humanitarian interventions and capacity development through seminars and exhibitions to boost advocacy for Humanitarian services and empowerment programmes.
In her remarks, the NAOWA President said that, the visit to the Ministry is to acquaint the Minister of the humanitarian and entrepreneurial activities of NAOWA in the barracks and neighbouring communities.
On the entourage of the President of NAOWA during the visit were Mrs Bilkisu AB Ibrahim, Mrs Judith Akinjobi, Mrs Anthonia Ataguba, Mrs Maryam Abdulsalam, Mrs Khadijah Maikano, Mrs Rekiya Usman and Mrs Maksuda Momoh.
